Default UCLA Will Be Trying For the Miracle Win Against USC

UCLA is getting ready for #1 USC this weekend and head coach Dorrell knows that more than Los Angeles bragging rights are at stake this time.

"Playing your rival from the same city, No. 1 in the country with a tremendous win streak, this is a tremendous opportunity," Dorrell said Monday. "It's our rivalry, but it's also all those other things. The things that we've endured the last two years and getting in a position now to have a stake in the conference and also a bigger stake in bowls and all those things that happen down the line with ramifications of this game."
"We're anxious to prove that we're a pretty good football team," he said. "We've made those positive steps along the course of the season. I don't think anybody really anticipated for us to be where we are. That's the great thing about sports because sometimes somebody surprises. We happen to do that a little bit, and we're anxious to do it one more time."

Even though they have a great record, the Bruins are 22-point underdogs heading into Saturday's game at the Coliseum. The top-ranked Trojans (11-0) will try to run their winning streak to 34.

"They know how to win, and that's why they've won 33 times. You have to take your hat off to what USC has been able to accomplish. It's amazing, Dorrell said. "They've taken everyone's best shot and they still came out victorious every time. That just shows how good their program is. They have one more shot to take, with us. We're going to try to put our best game together."

Drew Olson will have to play great for the Bruins to stand a chance. "We'll have a chance to show people who we are. I'm not sure many people out there know," said Olson.
