#1 Connecticut Looks to Bounce Back
#1 ranked Connecticut lost at Villanova on Monday, but the loss will not deter the Huskies for long.
Connecticut played one of the top teams in the country on the road to a virtual standstill, losing in the last few seconds.
"We'll bounce back," coach Jim Calhoun said Tuesday. Bouncing back is nothing new for Connecticut. The Huskies were 11-0 before losing Jan. 3 at Marquette in their Big East opener. They won 11 straight again before the Villanova loss.
The 20,859 fans at the Wachovia Center was the largest crowd ever to watch a college basketball game in Pennsylvania.
It won’t take long for Uconn to refocus. The Villanova game was the second in a three-game Big East road trip. It began at Seton Hall and ends Saturday at No. 11 West Virginia.
"It's a tough road for anybody," Calhoun said. "That's just the nature of the schedule. Everybody's doing it."
