Free NFL Preseason Pick - Kansas City at N.Y. Giants Kansas City (0-1 SU and ATS) at N.Y. Giants (1-0 SU and ATS) The Chiefs hit the road for the second consecutive week, this time traveling to the Meadowlands to face the Giants. Quarterback Trent Green looked sharp in limited action during the Chiefs’ 24-14 loss to the Texans last week, completing 5 of 6 passes for 34 yards. Green and the rest of Kansas City’s starters are expected to play into the second quarter tonight, with the possible exception of running back Larry Johnson, who likely will only play a couple of series. The Chiefs’ two backup quarterbacks – Damon Huard and rookie Brodie Croyle – didn’t play against Houston, and both remain banged up. Huard returned to practice this week, but his availability tonight is unknown, while Croyle definitely will not play. Casey Printers and Jeff Smoker will round out K.C.’s quarterback rotation. Eli Manning played three series in the Giants’ exhibition opener at Baltimore, going 4-for-7 for 74 yards while leading the offense to its first touchdown, but New York needed a last-second field goal to rally for a 17-16 upset victory. Like the Chiefs’ Green, Manning also is slated to play into the second quarter along with the rest of the first-string unit. Once Manning departs, Rob Johnson will take over. Tim Hasselbeck and Jared Lorenzen will finish up, but coach Tom Coughlin was noncommittal on the order. Two of the Giants biggest offensive weapons – TE Jeremy Shockey and RB Tiki Barber – are expected to play tonight after sitting out last week’s game at Baltimore. With last week’s loss at Houston, Kansas City dropped to 2-9 in its last 11 exhibition road games (3-7-1 ATS). Meanwhile, the Giants are 8-5 at home (7-5-1 ATS) over the last five summers, including 3-3 SU and ATS against the New York Jets, with whom they share the Meadowlands. The Chiefs are 3-7-1 ATS as an underdog since 2001, while the Giants are just 3-5-1 ATS as a favorite during that span. ATS ADVANTAGE: N.Y. GIANTS |
