Default How could you not take Reggie Bush at #1?

Reggie's numbers from the NFL combine:
40 yard dash: 4.37 seconds
225 Bench: 24 times
Vertical jump: 40.5 inches

source: ESPN

Greatest athlete in a few years.
Gotta take him even if you don't need him.

I dunno, the Texans need a lot more than a good athlete.
They need about 5 good lineman first. And then a good offensive coordinator.
Then a new quarterback....Carr is garbage.

Well, the Texans don't seem like the best run franchise.
So I'm gonna say that Texans take Vince Young cause he's the hometown hero and then in 10 years there will be a show on ESPN called....
"Why You Can't Blame the Texans for Not Drafting Reggie Bush"
LOL

I dunno dunny.
Vince Young looked pretty damn good at the combine.
His side are motion is questionable, but dude is 6'5" and can throw over most O-Line man.
His QB rating was 163.9 during his senior year with 26 td's and that's against the Big 12, arguably the best conference in the nation.
And didn't he run a 4.5 40????
That's almost as good as Reggie Bush, but can throw skinny posts like a muthaf'er.
If anything, he maybe a better athlete than Bush and a bigger (more durable) body.
I'd go Vince Young all day, son.

Vince Young is nasty. Not only did he tear up the Big 12, he even tore up USC, the defending National Champion. He ran holes all over them at a place more favorable to SC(near home). He made SC's defense look like little kids. And SC's defense was so respected before that. Of course after that, everybody was saying, "oh, well SC was overrated." you weren't saying that before.
Vince Young is a BEAST.
You'd be an idiot to not take him.
But the Texans might just be idiots.

Well I guess if you're run by a bunch of idiots like the Texans are, then you'll sign an unproven DE from NC State to a big deal the night before the draft and not even think of taking Reggie Bush. I know the Texans don't need a RB right now, but how could you not take Reggie Bush!!!!!

They have no idea whats going on. Not based on combine numbers, based on tape. Any guy put up great numbers at a combine and be a scrub on the field. The kid can flat out ball. I got tired of hearing all of the guys on the pre game shows and espn talking about bush, so i started watching all his games and i can see why they were hyped up. But calling him a combination of 'gayl sayers and barry sanders' is absolutly insane, the kid hasnt even played in a pre season game yet. all the potential is there, which means nothing until he proves he has what it takes. The texans are lost, but im glad they skiped out because NO could use a good team, and a hype player to get fans.

True, all that shit doesnt' mean anything...but to choose who the Texans chose first....WHAT? Maybe another skill position first, but a DE....a game changing DE??? I don't know.

We'll see in a couple of weeks how things start to unfold. Looks like both picks will be seeing lots of PT. I just don't see a DE having that big of an impact or a defensive player for that matter. Unless they are unreal talents like Deion, LT, etc.

they are hoping hes instant impact like merriman was for the chargers, and eventualy turns into a reggie white caliber player. but hopes and dreams are no reason for not taking bush.
