Boston Massacre 28 years later. Bosox Nation in shock after loosing their final game of a five-game series with the Yankees.
Bosox started the series 1.5 game behind, after today's loss, they're now 6.5 games behind in the East.
The Yankees mid-season trade for Abreau, Liddle and Wilson are paying dividends big time. Abreau has been phenominal with the bat, on the base paths, and with an OBP of >.500; Liddle pitched a gem of a ball game, even though he wasn't credited for the win--he went deep into the ball game, which is pretty much what Torre wants from his 5th starter; Wilson started at first, giving Giambi, who had two homers last night, a much needed rest.
A subway series could be a reality.
Side note: Pedro and Glavine mailing this one in or what? Faking some injuries so they're healthy for the post-season...sounds like something the Yanks do.
