Default Free Baseball Pick - Arizona at San Diego

The free pick run is 53-43 after the New York Giants dominate the Chiefs 17-0 last night.

Tonight, I comeback with the Padres over the D'backs.

We have learned one thing about the Padres. They can't beat the Giants. However, I know they can beat this D'backs team.

Woody Williams goes to the hill and he is coming off a nice win over the Astros on the road in which he allowed only 2 runs over 7 innings.

Now, back home, he looks for 2 in a row and I believe he will get it.

You look at his last 5 starts versus the D'backs and you will see he has allowed 3 runs twice, 2 runs twice and 1 run.

Bottom line is if he gets 4 runs tonight, he will be a winner and I believe the Padres will get him that off of Gonzalez.

Gonzalez was just terrible his last road starts getting hammered by the Cubs in Wrigley to the tune of 6 runs over 5 innings.

You add the fact he is 1-2 on the highway this year with an era of 7.59 and you can see why the Padres are the play.

Get all over the hometeam as they roll large tonight.

(based on 1 to a 10 ♦ Ratings )

4♦ SAN DIEGO PADRES

Who is Jeff Benton?

I've been gambling my entire adult life. Understanding the mindset of coaches and players, and the situations they find themselves in daily, is the key to my success. That is what over a decade in this business will do for you. Make you understand the little things.

Look, you've got to realize something about athletes, both collegians and pros: They don't give their all every single game. They just can't. Whether it's a lookahead game, a letdown game, a travel situation or a dozen other scenarios, the situation often dictates a less than 100% effort. As a handicapper, you've got to be able to spot those mismatches - no matter the sport - and that's why I've got the winning edge.

Bottom line: My knowledge of the game is unmatched in this industry. To be a successful handicapper, not only must you know the game, but you must understand exactly what teams are trying to do, and know whether or not they will be able to do it.
