Free Pick - Cincinnati Vs. Arizona Tuesday August 15th Very nice winner on Carlos Zambrano and the Cubs right here on Monday in shutout fashion
For Tuesday take the Reds at this price!
Chris Carpenter is still definitely a top notch hurler but the guy is far from being as dominant as he has been over recent years. The righthander is right now a guy that will have an ERA in the low threes but is also a guy that can and will get touched up at times. You saw that in the last start against this same Cincinnati team as he was unable to hold onto the early 4-0 lead at the Great American Ballpark.
The Reds are gunning for the redbirds in their attempt to get to the top of the division and with probably their best pitcher on the bump why can't they win this game!??!?! Aaron Harang is in the middle of a pretty solid season and despite not being as good as his mound opponent, he can definitely look just as good in this one game.
The Cards have been awful, by their standards, for the last few months. This team has had every single opportunity to run away with the NL Central yet continue to lose and stay only a few games ahead of the Reds. Tony LaRussa's team is just not that good right now and are laying a price that is too steep for them at this time. Of course with Pujols, Rolen and Edmonds they have the ability to go on a run but until they do and even with their ace, they can't be laying this much.
Cincinnati can hit the ball and do have an improved bullpen after the moves made by Wayne Krivsky. Hopefully Eddie Guardado will not implode again. Sure I'll back Griffey, Dunn and the Reds at this sweet price!
