Default NFL Preseason - Detroit (1-0 SU and ATS) at Cleveland (0-1 SU and ATS)

Detroit (1-0 SU and ATS) at Cleveland (0-1 SU and ATS)

After an impressive home win over the Broncos in their exhibition opener, the Lions hit the road to take on the Browns.

Detroit’s top three quarterbacks – Jon Kitna, Josh McCown and Dan Orlovsky – all led scoring drives in Friday’s 20-13 victory over Denver and finished a combined 12 of 20 for 129 yards with one TD and one INT, both of which came from the arm of Orlovsky.

New Lions coach Rod Marinelli said his starters, including Kitna, will be on the field for about 25-30 snaps. Orlovsky will follow Kitna, with McCown working with the third-stringers. One target the QBs won’t have is WR Charles Rogers, who will sit out with an injury.

Charlie Frye, who completed 4 of 7 throws for 23 yards in limited action in Cleveland’s 20-7 loss at Philadelphia last week, will start once again and play well into the second quarter, along with the rest of the starters. Backups Ken Dorsey and Derek Anderson will follow.

This is the sixth consecutive summer in which these teams have battled one another, with the Browns going 4-1 (3-2 ATS) in the previous five, including a 21-13 victory as a seven-point road underdog in 2005.

The Browns snapped a 7-0 ATS winning streak with last week’s loss at Philly. However, Cleveland is on a 7-3 SU and ATS roll in preseason home games going back to 2001.

Detroit is 2-8 in its last 10 exhibition road games (3-7 ATS). The Lions are also mired in a 3-8 ATS slump as an underdog in August.

Cleveland has won and covered in Week 2 of the exhibition campaign the last two years, while the Lions are in an 0-3 SU and ATS slump in Week 2 action.

ATS ADVANTAGE: CLEVELAND
