NFL Week 4 Rumors From SI.com: RUMORS
The Jets, hoping to jump-start their dormant running game, could be mulling another change at running back. Coach Eric Mangini is believed to be considering an expanded role for rookie Leon Washington. -- New York Daily News
The Dolphins need to go back to their original quarterback plan, which, by the way, was never put into practice. That would mean using Joey Harrington as their starter -- that's starter -- until Daunte Culpepper really, really, really is healthy enough to do the job. -- Palm Beach Post
The contrast between Cedric Benson and his jubilant Bears teammates was so noticeable that coach Lovie Smith, assistant Darryl Drake and team chaplain Harry Swayne separately attempted to raise Benson's spirits on the walk off the field. Bears coaches have offered the "flow of the game" excuse to explain why they stuck with Thomas Jones the entire game, but one theory is the Bears couldn't risk the dropoff in intensity by using Benson. -- Chicago Tribune Shaun Alexander, who was on crutches Monday at team headquarters, could be out for several weeks. Seattle coach Mike Holmgren would not put a timetable on Alexander's return. He will miss this Sunday's game at Chicago. Maurice Morris will move into the starting lineup at running back. -- Seattle Times
On Monday, Cardinals coach Dennis Green left open the possibility of benching Kurt Warner and starting rookie Matt Leinart on Sunday against the Falcons in Atlanta. -- Arizona Republic Vince Young, who did not play at all, was mentioned in an Internet report that he would start for the Titans as soon as this week if Kerry Collins did not play well Sunday. Jeff Fisher dismissed that notion. -- Nashville City Paper
Cowboys receiver Terry Glenn suffered a cut to his hand Monday, according to several sources. The sources said the cut is not considered serious, but it's not clear if Glenn will practice today. The receivers' official status is unknown because coach Bill Parcells surprisingly cancelled practice Monday after taking the players through their normal walkthrough session. -- Dallas Morning News My thoughts: 1)who is leon washington??? 2)A 80% Dante is better than a 110% Harrington 3)Thomas Jones is a beast, stop trying to baby sit Cedric Benson. And Thomas Jones is an amazing blocker....Rex Grossman has been sacked only once this year. Yes, once. Look it up. 4) Expect the Seahawks to air it out for the next couple weeks, huge drop off at RB after Alexander. 5) If Lienhert came into camp on time, I'd be all for starting him. But he's only seen about a month of practice. So stick with Warner, he almost won in week 3. 6) Just start Vince Young. He's a proven winner and Kerry Collins sucks ass. 7) Glenn out??? Here's Terrell's shot to prove how much of an impact player he can be.
