NFL Pick - Houston @ St. Louis Houston (1-0 SU and ATS) at St. Louis (1-0 SU, 0-1 ATS) The Rams host their second straight exhibition game, this time welcoming the Texans to the Edward Jones Dome. St. Louis edged the Colts 19-17 a week ago, but failed to cover as a five-point chalk. Marc Bulger gets the start for the Rams after going 3-for-6 for 51 yards against the Colts. Gus Frerotte will follow Bulger, but expect to see a lot of second-year pro Ryan Fitzpatrick in the second half after he completed 8 of 11 passes for 51 yards in the opening game. St. Louis’ running back Steven Jackson is slated to start, but likely will be done after the first two series. Texans starting QB David Carr, who went 3-for-5 for 23 yards in last week’s win over Kansas City, will play into the second quarter and possibly the entire first half tonight. Sage Rosenfels will follow Carr, with Cody Pickett taking over the offense in the fourth quarter. Houston running back Domanick Davis is out, but second-year back Vernand Morency, who sat out the Chiefs game, will return to action. Houston has been horrible on the road in the preseason, posting a 1-7 SU and ATS record in its four-year history. St. Louis is 9-13 SU and ATS over the last five preseasons (5-6 SU and ATS at home).
