Free MLB Pick for August 18th, 2006 Just a bit short right here on the Twins on Thursday. For Friday take the Cardinals in Wrigley Field. Yes the Cubbies are absolutely dominating this season series to the tune of something like 10-4 but this just will not last, it can't. Dusty Baker's club definitely has confidence against Albert and the Redbirds and Jim Edmonds is not healthy right now but if there was ever a team who was due to beat another team then this is that case. The Cubbies did just have that road sweep in Houston and are definitely playing better and overall are not as bad as their record indicates but the Cards will not continue to lose in this series. Call it the law of averages, call it whatever, St. Louis is still the better team with the better hurler and will win this game. Derrek Lee is still out and Jason Marquis is more experienced and superior than Carlos Marmol. This game is a deal and then some at around a pick as the Cardinals are better and despite the very shaky play for a while now will win this matinee affair.
